Progress after 2 months
After about 2 months plus of blogging, I decided it's time to do some evaluation of this blog page.
For traffic, I'm getting about 30-50 unique visitors a week.
For Adsense, I'm been getting pitance! haha! Ok, I'm removing it!
For other links, pretty ineffectual marketing.
But the good news is that my feedburner link to this site is ranked 3rd in Google for the search term 'Internet Wealth Code' (it fluctuates, but consistently on the 1st page)
So what does this tells me? Well, looks like all the strategies of doing RSS feeds, feedburner, claiming my blog in technorati, pinging sites, getting links have helped to get the blog ranked reasonably high on google.
But that still doesn't translate to good traffic and increased revenue. Why?
Well, that's the problem. The keyword that I'm optimising for, in this case 'Internet Wealth Code' does not happen to be one of the most well-searched term. No wonder the traffic is only trickling in!
Heck, sometimes we start a website or move into a particular project without thinking
of what the site is for. Ok, to be fair, this site is not entirely about revenue-generation, more of a place for me to blabber about Internet marketing.
So if that's the case, maybe it's time to do a revamp. Gone is the Adsense code following the advice of a mentor. Focus on generating traffic first. But I still want to retain my banner for my www.EarnReadingEmails.com I kinda still like some nice graphics at the top of the page. I'll remove the 2nd banner though.
I'll remove the opt-in box. Heck you want the ebook, I'll give you a direct link to it, no need to opt-in.
And I'll be using some SEO strategies to optimize for other keywords. Shan't say what it is yet. Need to do more research to see what keyword is good.
Finally, time to broadcast to more people about the site.
Hopefully, I target to increase my unique visitors to 100/day. Well, keep a lookout for this blog because that means I need to put in more valuable content to keep everyone interested.
In the meantime, if you like what you have read at my blogs, do help to spread it around and maybe even get people to link to me. I'll be eternally grateful. :)
